A Roundtable Conversation: Academic Translation

The Institute regularly organizes, participates, and/or co-sponsors events with or at partner institutions all over the world. On November 25^th, 2017, IGLP sponsored a roundtable hosted by the Manchester International Law Centre. The event was interested with the growing tendency of discussing ‘international law’ in terms of ‘global governance’, which suggests there might be a blurring of concepts and institutions within and beyond academia. Organized by Grietje Baars, Luis Eslava, John Haskell, and Rose Parfitt, the roundtable aimed at broadening the intellectual engagement beyond disciplinary fields, looking for ways to explore fields of non-traditional interest, thus overcoming methodological restrictions and frustrations.
