On March 30, 2012 the Institute for Global Law and Policy and Visa, Inc convened a day-long policy roundtable workshop on Global Liquidity and Capital as Legal Institutions.  This Workshop is the first in a series of broad ranging research initiatives between the IGLP and Visa to cover the themes of liquidity in the global economy, productive financial services regulatory structures in emerging markets, and financial inclusion.  The aim of this new initiative is to both strengthen expertise within IGLP’s global network of experts and young scholars, and to help us identify ongoing research projects that advance thinking about policy alternatives through discussion among scholars, public officials and industry representatives.

The Roundtable brought together a small group of government officials, industry representatives and scholars for a high-level discussion of the nature of global liquidity and capital as legal institutions, financial inclusion and the provision of banking services for the unbanked as an aspect of development policy, and the structure of financial services in emerging markets.  You can see the Program for this event HERE.  You can see the list of Participants HERE.
