Authorizing the archive: Methodological reflections on the Mau Mau case
December 16, 2016
December 16, 2016 from 1pm – 2:20pm in Hauser Hall 101 at Harvard Law School
The IGLP sponsored a lunch discussion with Caroline Elkins, Professor of History and African and African American Studies at Harvard. Her work – along with missing archives she uncovered – has had a direct bearing on legal claims by former Mau Mau detainees against the British government. Prof. Elkins had an open discussion with participants, entitled Authorizing the archive: Methodological reflections on the Mau Mau case.
The event was organized by IGLP Residential Fellows Deval Desai, Christopher Gevers, and Adil Hasan Khan as well as IGLP Visiting Researcher, Sundhya Pahuja.
