Priya Gupta, IGLP alumni and Associate Professor at Southwestern Law School recently published the article “The Peculiar Circumstances of Eminent Domain in India” in the Osgoode Hall Law Journal.  Gupta’s article addresses questions of constitutional property regimes that govern eminent domain by exploring the historical roots that grounded the Indian Constitution from 1947 to 1950 and argues that the compulsory land acquisition concepts that were inherited from the British is impractical for how property rights are exercised in India.
