This year’s program, supported by our terrific resident Fellows, will include many of our signature activities. Details on all our upcoming events can always be found right here on our website. Beyond lectures, student conferences and roundtables at Harvard, we have planned an exciting series of international events this year.  As always, the year will finish with a bang here at Harvard in June when we will inaugurate a new “Advanced Workshop” for IGLPers. The program will be designed to intensify opportunities for collaboration across our network and will be open by invitation and application. Stay tuned to our website for the latest details. (Our next biennial international conference will be held in June 2017).

After three wonderful years, we will not be holding our global January Workshop in Doha this year. Our focus will be strengthening our Regional Workshop series, whose goal is to intensify our region specific intellectual engagement while continuing to encourage aspiring junior faculty, doctoral scholars and postdoctoral scholars across the world to collaborate with global peers. In August 2015, we convene our first regional Workshop pilot in Bogota, Colombia at The University of Los Andes, where we will bring 25 participants and 22 faculty together for three intense days of collaboration.

In 2016, we will also begin a terrific new collaboration with the Center for African Studies (CAS) at Harvard as they open a new center in Cape Town. Together, we plan to strengthen our academic research and training work across Africa. In January 2016, in coordination with CAS, we will convene a new IGLP Workshop in Cape Town, South Africa, modeled on our Doha experiences with particular focus on African scholars and research. The program will take place the week of January 17, 2016, inaugurating a new annual site for our work. We will open the application cycle on our main website page in the coming weeks.
