The University for Foreigners Perugia is pleased to announce that it will be holding its Summer University on The Globalization of Law and Legal Thought July 16-28, 2012.

The Summer University Program is designed for Ph. D. law students in Italy or abroad, post-doctoral students and junior faculty researchers; graduate students with a Master’s degree in law will be also admitted. The Summer University will provide a full time program of 60 hours.  Lectures and seminars, held in English by an international panel of outstanding professors, will focus on the following subjects:

  • Global/Local in financial markets and property
  • Critiques of law & economic approaches
  • Common law, civil law, chtonic tradition
  • Private international law & global governance
  • Public international law
  • Introduction to Latin American law
  • Latin American law and Caribbean as a legal space
  • Latin American family law
  • Introduction to African legal system
  • African property law
  • Critical approaches to Islamic law
  • Transnational jurist and global law
  • Eastern Asian legal traditions
  • Local government law
  • Global labour law

Registration by July 6, 2012.
Course Fee: EUR 400.00.
For the first 30 members, the University for Foreigners of Perugia will offer an accommodation in the colleges of the Agency for the Right to Education in Umbria (A.Di. ON).
