The Symposium on Technologies of Imperialism: Law in Contemporary and Historical Perspective, a conference for masters students is looking for paper submissions for the Symposium on March 16, 2013 at the University of London. The purpose of this symposium is to critically assess the role of law as a technology in imperialist projects and in shaping world inequalities. The event is intended to provide a space for interdisciplinary dialogue on the intersection of imperialism, law, and inequality and will provide a unique and exciting opportunity for masters students to present and discuss their research at an international conference that includes renowned academics in the field. The symposium is organized by the Student Salon of the Centre for the Study of Colonialism, Empire, and International Law (CCEIL) at SOAS, University of London.

Panels and Themes will include:

  • International Law, Security, Violence
  • Property Rights and the Law of Contract
  • The Rule of Law and Development
