Anna Hazare’s anti-graft movement is now part of the growing epic predicament that Indian democracy seems to be increasingly drifting towards. An epic predicament, like any major epic of India such as the Ramayan or Mahabharath, is a moment where we know the end result but or precisely because of that our interest in the phenomenon sustains. We all knew watching Ramayan who would win and why, yet the story keeps us spell-bound and of course glued to the television when it was telecast. Not the suspense but its predictability is what endears it, and makes it so familiar.
